Welcome to Weird by Choice, a blog created to help celebrate the weird and worry not about the status quo. My goal in creating this blog was to create community around the areas in which I’m personally passionate.

You know that feeling when you’re hesitant to say something to someone new, but then you say it and hear those two life-affirming words, “Me too!”? That’s how I want this blog to make you feel. I love talking to people about homeschooling because it’s weird and wonderful and no two families do it alike. My weird isn’t your weird; but we’re definitely both bonkers. Similarly, I love talking to chicken people because those in this circle are crazy passionate about these simple winged creatures we all take for granted. Chickens don’t just provide eggs, they enrich lives. (Plus, it turns out I’m not the only one who is completely in love with their poultry and treats them somewhere between a child and a pet.) And so the list goes on.
